  About Paxos

Area 20sq. km. Distance from Gorfu 27 nautical miles. Distance from Igoumenitsa 14 nautical miles.

The island is an immense olive grove and the olives reaches up to the sea creating its unique character.

Today in the 34 settlements live roughly 2.400 residents that deal with the olive-crop, the tourism and the fishing.

The 64 churches of island reveal its Christian course and the abandoned windmills, its rural way of life. The Antipaxos abstain 2 nautical miles from southern point of Paxos.

Villages of the Antipaxos are lived by 20 permanent residents and casually by those that have properties in the island. Their main pastime the viticulture.

Moreover today exist roughly 2.000 rented rooms, two schools of submarine dive and a lot of events during the summertime take place, as the Musical Meeting in July and the Festival of classical music the first fortnight of September.
